About Neelima

Neelima is a surrealist poet and artist whose work embodies deep emotion, abstraction, and transformation. An alumna of Hyderabad Central University, she has a diverse professional background, including her time at Google Bangalore. She published a poetry collection through Writer’s Workshop in 2014, followed by Love Today, an online book available on Amazon.

Neelima’s journey is one of extraordinary resilience. She battled two years of dialysis, survived COVID-19, and underwent a life-saving kidney transplant. While recovering, she faced a severe fungal infection that left her visually impaired in one eye. Yet, she emerged stronger, embracing life with gratitude, believing the universe has gifted her a second chance. She now resides in Bangalore with her family, cherishing every moment.

Art has always been Neelima’s refuge. Inspired by her father, a doctor and artist, she found solace in creativity from a young age. Painting became a form of healing— Her poetry is now expressed with a paint brush instead of a pen.

Her Birth Series translates her surrealist poetry into visual form, capturing themes of renewal and introspection. Works like Whatever and The House embody her free-spirited, abstract expression of emotions, while her Underwater series delves into depth, transformation, and self-discovery.

Through her art, Neelima continues to turn adversity into beauty, using her brush as a voice for emotions that words cannot always capture.
